Our treatment goal is to provide the patient with the most modern and thoroughly tested therapy methods available, offering the entire spectrum of dentistry at top quality. It is important to us that the patient fully understands the various treatment options, the length of treatment, individual risks and costs so that an optimal plan can be determined.
Implants are artificial tooth roots made of titanium which replace lost teeth. Implants can be built up with crowns or can serve as a fundament for prosthetic anchoring.
Since the beginning of our pratice in 1991, implants have been one of our main focuses. As a rule, we give a 5 year guarantee on all implants, the only exceptions being heavy smokers and patients with an aggressive form of periodontal disease. In cases of insufficient bone availability, we can perform any of the different bone augmentation procedures, or provide you with a simpler alternative. We use the Straumann and the 3i implant system.
Periodontics is the branch of dentistry concerned with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the gums and supporting structures of the teeth.
The word "periodontal" literally means "around the tooth." Periodontal diseases are bacterial infections that destroy the attachment fibers and supporting bone that hold the teeth in the mouth. Left untreated, these diseases can lead to tooth loss. The main cause of periodontal disease is a bacterial plaque, a sticky, colorless film that constantly forms on teeth.
But there are non infectious periodontal changes such as exposed root surfaces (recession), which can be a problem aesthetically as well as being difficult to clean. A periodontal microsurgical procedure can be performed on these areas to cover the exposed roots.
Esthetic or cosmetic dentistry includes a variety of dental treatments aimed at improving the appearance of the teeth and gums. Our goal ist to achieve maximal esthetic improvement with the least possible invasive treatment. Here is a list of possible techniques:
- Orthodontic repositioning of crooked teeth
- Bleaching of dark or stained teeth
- Replacement of stained or metallic fillings with composite or porcelain.
- Porcelain veneers for stained or slightly malpositioned teeth
- Porcelain crowns for badly damaged teeth
Irregular gum line or unsightly exposed root surfaces can be treated with a periodontal surgical procedure to achieve a harmonious gingival contour. Click here for more Information
